FYI...for the PD guys wanting Jackplates be sure that the boat builder knows your plan. If you get the center of gravity to high on you transoms you will increase the force on the transom during operation.

I had the saem idea for mine, but after i busted the transom i decided not.

The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. Go here and click on the "donate a mammogram". This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

I hate to even contribute to this thread, but does anybody have any experience with a jack plate with a MM? I am thinking about adding one, to drop my motor about an inch. Transom is at 16 3/4 with a short shaft motor designed for a 16 inch. Not sure if it will hold though in the thick stuff. Any experience or thoughts? I was not going to get the hydraulic, as this is just one more thing to go wrong, but I like where your heads at J.

Cowboy thought- a thong on a woman is like a barbed wire fence. It protects the property but doesnt obstruct the view.

If you anyone is thinking of really doing this I highly recommend NOT getting a Detwiller Hydro jackplate. I got one one my bass boat and its garbage. The seals constantly leak fluid and the pump is situated to where you cant get to it without having a floor jack to pick it back up and put fluid in it. This has been my experience with them. I do like the idea of having one for that extra leverage exspecially when you are high centered and the prop is just above the water.
