 Shepabs from Maine and California
Sure are a lot of rebels on here!!!
I'm from Maine but currently working in NorCal for a while. Picked up a G3 with a 60hp Yamaha out here and repowered it with a 27 prodrive!!
I'm enjoying the chatter on here and learning a few things!

Welcome. What NGK plugs are you running in the 27? How much is the 3 blade prop?
Thanks,

Re: Shepabs from Maine and California
It came with the 3 bladed prop.. Wasn't anything special other than I ordered the manual reverse.
I'll get the plug number when I get home tonight and post it up.
I'm working up in Eureka and living in Ferndale. Behind the Redwood curtain!

Re: Shepabs from Maine and California
I hate Champion Plugs!! So I replaced them with NGK 2477 Iridium plugs. They were about $8 and some change apiece. I think they make that 27 more responsive and smoother.
The NGK's gap at .032 instead of the .028 for the Champs. Both plugs were the same heat range according to the comp chart I used.
I haven't GPS'd my top speed yet but plan to this weekend, I'll post up the stats on she does with that 3 bladed prop.

Re: Shepabs from Maine and California
I've got major problems with my new GPS. It's lost!! Doesn't know where it is or how fast it's going. Took the boat out today and took the one out of my truck. Best I could do with 2 guys and 120 pounds of lead in the bow was 17.5 mph. A little disappointing but the boat is pretty wide.. If I was hunting bigger areas, I might want a little more speed but this will do me fine.
Some excitment though, We were whipping up a brush and tree lined slough that was about 15 feet wide and going full tilt. Had a nice blacktail buck leap up off his bed next to the slough and almost jump into the boat!!! Saw 2 other nice racked bucks and could have shot both easily. Got to within 30 feet of one before he jumped the slough and scurried off. The other nice buck we saw standing in a treeline about 50 yards from the slough. Also saw 2 does, one of them also almost jumped into the boat.
If a deer tag wasn't an extra $250 on top of my nonresident hunting license, I'd have me one of those deer hanging in the garage right now.
