 Outboard Lower Unit Fluid
Not a mud motor but I figure you guys will know. Recently bought a 2000 135hp optimax. What is the best lower unit fluid to run? Thanks for the help.

 Re: Outboard Lower Unit Fluid
Any 80-90 gear oil will work. That's what I have been running in mine since first change in 1990.

It's just gear oil. Go to Wal-Mart and get some rotella 80-90 gear oil.

Be sure to pump it in from the bottom.

 Re: Outboard Lower Unit Fluid
That rotella is probably just as good or better and cheaper. And pump from the bottom till it cones out the top. Like BB said.
