Post Hopkins on a mud buddy
Order a hopkins 12x12 prop and was told I would have to do a little filing. To me it seems I've done more than a little filing and it still seems to not wanna go on. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this prop on there mud buddy.

Yesir, had the same issue when I owned a MB. I had a few high spots and eventually it went on. Make sure you wipe the shavings off from the shaft.

We'll I been using a flat file and I've made a lot more than 2 or 3 passes that's why I was wanting a little input before I kept filing away.

I worked on the prop hex using a 3/4 Allen wrench coated with 80 Grit lapping compound. I used a dead blow lead headed hammer to drive the allen wrench thru the prop hub back and forth until it loosened up. Then repeated the process until the allen wrench was a slip fit thru the hub. Took several passes and a bit of time but felt better about working prop rather than grinding on shaft. Don't know how accurate shaft flats would be if grinder was used. Might take to much off one of the flats and cause an embalance or wobble in prop.

It ran about the same as the big blade so I sent it back to get another inch of pitch put in it.

Got prop back and ran this weekend. Was about .5 slower than big blade and had a lot of vibration and tiller torque.
