 1750 Deadfowl Build
Well guys, I'm a big fan of all the build threads and watching them all come together, so now its almost time for me to start mine! Rj will be building me a 1750 with 3/16th bottom, a 68in beam and 21" sides! I'm going to slap a new 37EFI GTR on the back which is already paid for just waiting for pick up! I don't have any pictures or details just yet, but i wanted to go ahead and get a post started on it. He will be going to pick up materials and motor in roughly two weeks, and if i remember correctly he has a boat ahead of mine, but he thinks (depending on how busy with work he is) that hopefully i should hit the water with mine towards the end of October, first of November just in time for season! Cant wait...as you guys can tell due to the early post! Haha

Re: Up and Coming Deadfowl Build
Well its getting closer..he is about finished with the river boat he had to build prior to mine so hopefully here pretty soon he will get rolling on mine! Meanwhile. I've been designing the layout of my trailer i am building and the side bunks and a rough look of it. Here is a few pics for ideas. Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated!

 Re: 1750 Deadfowl Build
Yea, i guess he's an alright guy i suppose! haha (just giving you a hard time RJ) Outside of being a friend from bak home, RJ is great guy to deal with and work with for sure, if anyone is looking for a custom builder, he is definitely one to look into! I've seen his boats in person, and ridin in a few of them. Tough, strong, looks great, and performs great!

 Re: 1750 Deadfowl Build
Since you are designing your trailer, I thought I would throw this out there. I saw a pic of a trailer the other day and thought it was a really nice design. (Maybe I saw it on here?? I looked for it just now to show you, but couldn't find it.) Basically, starting a few feet back from the tongue, it looked like added channel and expanded metal to form a walking platform. This gave about 1ft solid platform that went all the way back to the axles. This would be really nice for those times when you don't have waders on and need to load/launch the boat. No slipping on the slimy ramp! Just a thought.

 Re: 1750 Deadfowl Build
Well I'm having Diamond City build the frame (axle, tongue, and bottom metal structure). I'm going to be putting the bottom and side bunks on and the front winch. But I will keep that in mind, that's not a bad idea to add to it! I appreciate it!

 Re: 1750 Deadfowl Build
Another update, I didn't want to spend the extra money and I don't go through open waters to cut waves, so I decided to just go with a flat bottom into a pointed nose! He got the nose cut and tacked up so the front is starting to take shape!

I know I definitely will be going with him after the season is over. He makes a sharp looking boat and seems to be a stand up guy from what everyone says on here. He just gonna have his work cut out for him whenever I place my order.. But congrats on the build! Make sure to keep us all updated and post lots of pictures!

Well he was able to get a little bit more done this weekend. He got a little bit of the front bracing done and worked on the transom and got it fabbed and taking shape. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1443405650.672089.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1443405659.875558.jpg

 Re: 1750 Deadfowl Build
Talked to RJ some more today, due to the really shallow rake we went with on the nose, we had to do some thinking on the winch mount. I think it turned out pretty well! If you notice in the picture from the inside of the boat, he took some pipe and cut in half for the rope to run against. The nose of this boat, I will agree with Migrator, is definitely turning out to be a very individual and one of a kind! Take a look...
