Looks good. Ive got mine just about hulled out. Just put a deposit on a MB 44 H. Did your motor bolt on to the transom or did you have to mount an adaptor palte? Did you add any extra floatation?

Swamp, when you re-do the floor in alum, put some closed cell foam flotation under the floor and between the ribs. Get a tiny tach to better monitor the motor. That Kohler 27 should not require a squeeze bulb on the fuel line- check all the connections for leaks, leave the vent open when running. Add fuel stabilizer to the gas periodically. Don't bend the side tabs of the cavitation plate just the trailing edge above the prop. You got good advice already; my MB LT has a trim plate so I only have to bend that instead of the whole plate-this could easily be made and added to your plate. Have fun, wear the kill switch lanyard, and easy on the turns!

Negative! That will absorb water and be a pain to remove. I'm talking of a product like Dow Corning's Foamulator foam sheets- you can cut to fit and absorb almost nothing. The first time around I used hard polystyrene sheets and this did not absorb water and it weighs very little.

Absolutely. I keep a backup mechanical Kohler pump- this simply screwbolts onto the cylinder; if you have an electric fuel pump then the bulb is a good idea.

Outboards have electric fuel pumps and still use a primer bulb so why not

Bulbs are notorious for letting air in the system. On these low pressure fuel systems, a little air can cause a lot of headaches.

Dang! That's the fastest upgrade I've seen! Forget the alum floor. The water level is dropping here, it would not be a good time to run a shortail but you would definitely find out about getting it stuck real good. Have fun, Swamp!
