Terry you must have run the shit out of your motors, i haven't seen a connecting rod fail yet, at least i haven't heard of any. What rods were you using? was it always a rod to go first or did something else fail like drop a valve, just like that motor that calen has now.

EVT nope never dropped a valve. Same side same Place on both rods. What you think did in EVT. All those stage 3 motors

Only stock part on mine is the crank and fly wheel, only reason i haven't changed the fly wheel is cause its not worth loosing my charging system, plus i hunt and fish out of the boat, but when i wanna play there is plenty of throttle room.

5000 continous is only a matter of time and yes Chauvin it depends solely on who is running the motor, if you don't know what you are doing you'll blow it up in no time but run right it will last you many many oil changes

motor is an 09 put carb on at 20hrs, got tired of fightng the shitty idling of the stock carb and all the hesitation, i ordered the motor with exhaust which was an evt when i first got it. Then at 25hours cody worked the heads at 85 hours we built the motor the way it is now, i have 178 hours as it sits right now, haven't had a rev limiter since the carb was installed at 20hrs.

You'd have a rev limiter if you ran stumps and logs.
